Flash, Movie Maker, and Final Cut HD Video

  1. Recruitment Video: these three videos may take a while to download (sorry, the footage used was already heavily compressed:). I am a teacher in the Business Academy at Saddleback and we use this video I created as part of our recruitment tools. This video shows the trips that we take to various parts of the country. Students have numerous options, as far as clubs and organizations go on campus, and this video has helped us maintain strong numbers within the academy.
  2. Commerical 1: another video that I made for Academy fundraising. For two years our academy hosted an extremely successful Karaoke night. Our first year (this video) helped us gross nearly $1,200 in four hours. This video was actually replayed over the school tv feed three different times because the student body liked it so much.
  3. Commerical 2: this commerical was for Karaoke year two, when we were even more successful grossing over $2,000. We had an attendance increase and even more activities for the students.

PDFs and LiveCycle Designer

  1. SAC Scholarship: completed for our Higher Education Center coordinator. Applicants filled this form out by hand and then had to turn the form in after school. This led to a low percentage of application being filled out - 30 total in 2008 while competing schools had 100+. Also this is free money; whoever applies gets a scholarship. So in an effort to raise our filling percentage I created this form so that it could be filled out online and e-mailed or printed. We will see what the application rate is in 2009!
  2. RFP - OCTA: my dad works with the OCTA on occassion and I help him put together the PDF (Request For Project) applications. The first time we applied we finished 8th out of 15. The second time - 5 out of 20. And the third time second out of 20. This is the form we sent the third time which prompted an inquiry of my services by the lead at the OCTA. (Un)fortunately, I have a day job:) Redactions applied as this document contains personal, sensitive data.

Captivate Video

  1. Agenda: created by me for my advanced Word Processing class. This is one of twenty lessons I custom created for my class. Used Adobe Captivate CS3 and took three hours to complete - editing and voice over included in the time.
  2. Business Letter: also completed for the Word Processing class. About 3 hours as well.

Fun Video

  1. History Repeats: just a funny video (at least for me) that I used with other videos to create a dynamic loading flash site where the client could actually update video files via xml. Although the flash component is not on display here I like to keep this video as a nice laugh break.
  2. Bad Day at Work: another attempt at lightening the mood after a long day. This is an example of a simple slideshow in Flash using stock photos from sxc.hu. The picture at the start was made in Illustrator from a Happy Tree Friends image . . . the text was changed to fit the sceen.
